Where the idea began
Our motivation comes from seeing how quickly a loss can turn ordinary ownership details into urgent questions. What was damaged? What will it cost to repair or replace? Where are the receipts, model numbers, coverage records, and maintenance history?
Those questions became personal when our founder's mother experienced a devastating home flood. Living in Florida also meant watching friends and neighbors recover from hurricanes and flooding, often while trying to reconstruct records and prove what they owned. Each experience showed how much harder recovery becomes when essential information is scattered or incomplete.
The problem we wanted to solve
People are expected to remember an extraordinary amount at exactly the moment they are least able to do it. The important information is usually scattered across drawers, inboxes, phones, binders, and memory. Maintenance gets delayed. Receipts disappear. The true cost of ownership becomes visible only after something goes wrong.
We believed there should be a calmer, more practical way to care for the things that support everyday life—not only after a loss, but throughout the years before one.
