1. Scope
This Policy applies to the MyOwnerOS public website, applications, support, communications, and related services. It does not govern a third-party website or service you choose to visit.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account and contact information, such as name and email address.
- Property and asset records, including addresses, product details, vehicle or boat details, maintenance, costs, contacts, reminders, notes, and coverage information.
- Files and images you choose to upload, such as receipts, manuals, warranties, insurance records, service records, labels, and photos.
- Support communications and the information you include in them.
- Billing-related information. Our payment processor handles full payment-card details; MyOwnerOS receives limited subscription, transaction, invoice, and payment-status information.
Information collected through use
- Authentication, session, device, browser, network, security, and approximate-location information derived from an IP address.
- Privacy-limited public-site and signed-in product events, such as an approved page category, button category, assessment step number, result band, plan fit, or general campaign source. These events are designed not to contain customer names, questions, filenames, document contents, assessment answers, or free-form customer text.
- Error and performance information. We configure monitoring to remove request bodies, cookies, authorization headers, query strings, email addresses, and other sensitive details where reasonably possible.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the Service; authenticate users; store and organize records; process requested AI features; locate and verify public manuals; send requested operational communications; process billing; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; troubleshoot; comply with law; and improve reliability and usability.
We may create aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you and use it for operations, analysis, and product improvement.
Saved-help reports count broad topics, resource types opened, and answers marked helpful. Builders can see totals tied to homes they handed off, not the questions you typed, your contact details, or later private home records. These counts do not show whether a claim was sent or resolved. A short-lived, coded receipt prevents repeat votes for the same answer; it is not part of the report.
4. AI-assisted processing
MyOwnerOS sends content to an AI provider only when you intentionally start an AI-assisted feature, such as reading a label, receipt, maintenance record, or coverage proof; asking a manual question; or requesting another clearly labeled AI action. It does not automatically scan your private uploads for AI use.
The selected image, document content, product information, or question needed to complete the request may be sent to the provider. MyOwnerOS currently uses OpenAI’s API with response storage disabled where supported. OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default, though limited retention may occur for abuse monitoring under its data controls.
AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. You review suggestions before they are saved or used. Do not start an AI feature for content you do not want sent to the identified provider.
5. When information is shared
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We disclose information only as reasonably needed to:
- Use vendors that help provide hosting, authentication, databases, private file storage, payments, email delivery, AI processing, error monitoring, and secure browser infrastructure. Current providers may include Supabase, Stripe, Resend, OpenAI, Sentry, Browserbase, and hosting providers.
- Follow your direction, such as opening a manufacturer or retailer link, generating a report, or sharing a record with a person you authorize.
- Protect users, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, or comply with legal process.
- Complete a financing, merger, reorganization, acquisition, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and applicable law.
Vendors may process information only for contracted services and under their own applicable terms. Third-party sites you open receive information according to your browser and their policies.
6. Cookies and similar technology
MyOwnerOS uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, core features, and resuming the Ownership Readiness Check in the current browser session. Public-site and signed-in product analytics are recorded in our own service using fixed event categories rather than advertising profiles. Public analytics do not store a visitor identifier, IP address, referrer, browser fingerprint, or assessment answers. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies on the public website.
You can control cookies in your browser, but blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other features from working.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep account information and User Content while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Following cancellation, MyOwnerOS intends to keep customer files recoverable for 30 days before deletion. The confirmation presented at cancellation controls if it describes a different legally required period.
Deletion from active systems and backups may occur on different schedules. We may retain limited billing, tax, security, fraud-prevention, audit, support, dispute, and legal records for longer when reasonably necessary or required by law. Where practical, we delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, private storage, encrypted transport, ownership checks, row-level authorization, audit trails, and privacy-filtered monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Protect your credentials and contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Never email passwords, authentication codes, full payment-card numbers, or highly sensitive documents.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or an appeal, or to object to certain processing. These rights may have legal exceptions. We will verify requests before providing or changing account information.
To make a request, email support@myowneros.com with the subject “Privacy request.” You may also update some information and communication preferences in your account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
MyOwnerOS does not currently sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so no separate sale opt-out is needed. If that practice changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required controls before the change.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
11. United States processing
MyOwnerOS and its providers may process information in the United States and other locations where providers operate. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your location. Additional notices or transfer protections will be added before offering the Service in a jurisdiction that requires them.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy as the Service or law changes. We will post the new date and provide additional notice for material changes when required.
Questions and privacy requests may be sent to support@myowneros.com or through the contact page.
